General tips
It is recommended that
Eat well right before the appointment,
to be well-rested,
to have consumed no caffeine that day and no alcohol or other drugs since the previous day.
Blood-thinning medications such as aspirin and other painkillers are also prohibited before getting a tattoo. These medications can worsen the tattooing and healing process by dilating blood vessels, and can put a strain on the circulatory system and lead to excessive bleeding during the procedure.
You should avoid using sunscreen, body lotions and other creams on the relevant body parts on the day of tattooing, as these can saturate the skin too much and have a suboptimal effect on the tattooing process.
For longer sessions:
It is often a good idea to bring along some small snacks like chocolate or savory biscuits for energy.
Since you sweat even more than usual on disposable lounger covers, it's nice to bring a large, fresh towel as an additional mat.
For large tattoos, a second towel is advisable to cover the exposed body. (Dark-colored sauna towels would be ideal, for example.)
During the consultation
Are you obligated to inform us about pre-existing medical conditions (such as neurodermatitis, epilepsy, hemophilia, cardiovascular diseases, hepatitis, HIV)?
or to inform us of a pregnancy. For your protection and the protection of your child, we will not tattoo you during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Please show up for your tattoo appointment.
relaxed
and without time pressure!
Taking a shower before the appointment should be a matter of course for you.
For large tattoos, it would be helpful if you shaved the area of skin the day before or on the day of your appointment. (We may provide you with special long-hair razors when you book your appointment.)
Comfortable, dark, and older clothing is advantageous for you, as it can happen that ink gets onto your clothes during the tattooing process and may not be completely washable.
